Rick, a victim of a car accident which left him a parapalegic, at the age of 15, has devoted his life to bringing awareness and funding to spinal chord research so that some day, people with spinal chord injuries will no longer be confined to a wheelchair. With the Rick Hansen Foundation, a state of the art research facility in Vancouver, B.C. Rick continues to work towards finding a cure. Furthermore, Rick Hansen, has worked tirelessly to promote inclusiveness and accessibility for disabled people. I encourage you to read the overview of our hero's journey here. Abbotsford Traditional School follows the same curriculum and regulations of other schools, but features a structured approach to instruction, including a clearly defined standard of behaviour and academic achievement, and a strict dress code (uniforms are mandatory).
The Abbotsford School of Integrated Arts partners academics with arts to enrich the student learning experience, and features a piano lab. Students take a rotation of Drama, Music, Visual Arts and Dance with specialist instructors.
