Home Stay and Tuition Fees for International Students

In addition to your academic program, your tuition fee includes support from our International Assistants, the orientation program, use of textbooks, student activity fees and our year-end picnic.

All prices are in Canadian funds.

*Medical insurance from the Medical Services Plan of British Columbia (MSP) is mandatory for International students and coverage begins at the end of a three-month waiting period. During that three-month period, the Abbotsford School District pays for private medical coverage for international students.

**Immigration Canada requires all international students under age 18 to have a notarized declaration signed by a parent and their Canadian custodian. The Abbotsford School District will act as the custodian free of charge.

Additional Child Discount

If more than one member of your family wants to study in Canada, any additional children get a discount! The first student is charged the full tuition amount, and any additional students receive a $500 discount for the academic year, or $250 for a semester.

Refund Policy

In the event that you do not come to Canada, decide not to attend, or decide to leave the International Program in Abbotsford for personal reasons, only a portion of the paid tuition fee will be refunded. The application fee will be retained to cover administrative expenses.

Student Refund Policy:

• A full refund (less the application fee) will be granted if your study permit application is not approved by Canadian Immigration (you must provide the rejection letter as proof)
• A refund of 2/3 of the tuition fee will be granted if you withdraw prior to the commencement of the program
• A refund of 1/2 of the tuition fee will be granted if you withdraw within the first month of studies
• No refund will be granted if you withdraw after 30 days in the program, or, if you are found to be in violation of the rules of the program and are asked to withdraw, or, if the School District is unable to provide education due to causes beyond its control, or if you receive Landed Immigrant status during the year (October-June)
